About the Conference
  Illinois Computing Educators (ICE) is proud to present IL-TCE 2007: Think Outside the Box and Wires.

Who should attend this conference?
The conference has been designed to meet the needs and interests of administrators, principals, technology coordinators, curriculum specialists, special education instructors, classroom teachers, media specialists, business managers, school technical staff and support/clerical staff.

Pre-conference Workshops
These are all-day sessions offered on Tuesday, February 27 and Wednesday, February 28, 2007 (these include lunch). Pre-registration for Pre-conference Workshops is required.  Also, NEW THIS YEAR, we will be offering 1/2-day workshops on Thursday, March 2, 2007.

Kick-Off Reception
As part of the conference, Wednesday, February 28 is the Kick-Off Reception. Enjoy appetizers, music, networking and fun while attending this exhibit-only event. Take this opportunity to visit with conference vendors and learn about their products and services. There is no charge for conference registrants to attend.


New at IL-TCE 2007: Half-Day, Hands-On Workshops!

This year IL-TCE will be offering half-day, hands-on workshops on Thursday, March 1, from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Attendance at a half-day workshop is included in the General Conference registration fee; however, you must pre-register for these workshops because seating is limited! Register online at http://www.il-tce.org. Join us for the Keynote Address from 8:00-9:30am, then head on over to your workshop room. When the workshop is over, you can still catch the last 3 General Conference Breakout Sessions. Be sure to take advantage of this new, exciting opportunity!

General Conference Breakout Sessions
Breakout Sessions are 45-minute presentations offered during the General Conference dates of Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2. Breakout Sessions will cover topics in the various conference strands. While you must register for the General Conference itself, individual Breakout Sessions do not require advanced selection. Approximately 130 sessions will be offered Thursday, and 110 sessions will be offered Friday. A listing of the general session schedule will be posted on this website after January 15.


Keynote Addresses
Keynote Addresses take place each morning during the General Conference dates of Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2, 2007. Admittance to the keynote addresses is included in your General Conference registration.

Online Registration
This year we will conduct online registration for the entire conference. You will have the ability to view the Pre-conference Workshops and select and confirm your choices. General Conference days offer a variety of 45-minute sessions that do not require individual session registrations but simply require a general "day" registration to indicate that you will attend for the day.

Payment Options
IL-TCE accepts credit card payments as well as payments via Purchase Order. If using a PO number, be sure that after registering online that you print a hard copy of your invoice and hand it in to your accounting department for a check to be cut. We will not mail a separate invoice to you. Make checks payable to "Illinois Computing Educators " and mail the payment along with a copy of your invoice and PO number to:

General Session Conference Presenters
General Session presenters must register online like a regular conference attendee. General Session presenters will receive ONE free admission to the conference on the day of their presentation. Presenters should register for the conference online before December 16, 2006. The discount will be applied by an administrator by the end of December, at which time you may login to the IL-TCE website and print out your revised invoice. If there are two or more presenters for a 45-minute session, the additional presenters will need to pay regular registration fees.

Conference Volunteers
Information about volunteer for IL-TCE 2008 will be available in November 2007.

Conference Location
The Illinois Technology Conference for Educators will be held at Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center in St. Charles, Illinois.  For more information on the convention center or on reserving a room at the conference rate, click here.

CPDU Credit Available
CPDU Procedures for Tuesday and Wednesday workshops:

  1. Sign in when you get to your workshop.
  2. Stay for the entire session.
  3. Complete and evaluation form (provided to you by the presenter).
  4. Receive the Evidence of Completion form to retain for your files (provided to you by the presenter).

CPDU Procedures for Thursday and Friday General Session Days (including half-day workshop attendees):

  1. Attend the conference for the FULL DAY. Partial credit will not be given. (ICE will provide 7 CPDUs on Thursday and 6 CPDUs on Friday.)
  2. Complete the appropriate ISBE evaluation form at in your conference Program Guide.
  3. Drop off the completed evaluation form at the CPDU table in the Expo Center lobby (conference registration area) AFTER 3:30 PM but BEFORE 5:30 PM on Thursday, and AFTER 2:30 PM but BEFORE 4:30 PM on Friday.
  4. Upon submitting your completed evaluation form, a conference volunteer will hand you an Evidence of Completion form for you to retain for your files.

NOTE: Variances to these procedures will not be accepted.
